West Side Activities (Before or After Your Tour)
Depending where on island you stay, we want to recommend a few of our favorite west side activities so you can make the most of your time by driving to Kekaha to join our fun Na Pali Adventure! Since our check in time for the Na Pali Experience tours vary, if you book one of our morning tours (Morning Magic or Mid-Day Maddness) we recommend starting your day with us on tour and then doing some sight seeing after the boat returns! If you opt for our Afternoon Adventure tour, you could adventure first before joining us for your 1:40PM check in time!
If you are hungry and are looking for the best food on the West side, we recommend heading into Waimea town to grab a bite to eat before starting your adventure! Ishihara Market is a locally owned convenience store with the best poke and plate lunches on the west side of the island! G’s Juice Bar is another favorite of ours, they serve Acai Bowls, delicious smoothies, and powerful wellness shots-this is a great option especially if you are looking for a healthy and light food option. Another yummy options is Island Taco, which is located directly on the main highway in Waimea Town.
After you have eaten, we recommend driving up to Waimea Canyon! The canyon is a must-see while you are on Kauai! Take your time to drive up and check out ALL of the look outs. There are several lookout points along the way, you can even pull off on the side of the road and check out the Canyon from a few different angles.
It is also worthwhile to drive all the way to the top to the Kalalau Lookout. From there, you will be able to gaze down on the most majestic and largest valley on the island of Kauai. Which you will be seeing at some point in the day! It is a sight you will want to see. Being able to see it from the water and then from the highest cathedral will leave you speechless!
After you have seen the Waimea Canyon and Kalalau Valley Lookout, head on down the hill and end your day at Kekaha Beach Park! In the summer months, the sun sets well after 7PM and you will have plenty of time to make it to the beach before it sets! It is one of the most western points that is accessible in Hawaii and watching the sunset from there will end your adventure packed day on the west side! If you opt for the Afternoon Adventure tour, you will be getting back to the harbor around sunset, and trust us when we say there is absolutely nothing like seeing the sun set from the water!
