A Day on Kauai’s West Side
Unlike the other islands, Kauai only has one main road. Because of this, it’s best to take a day to explore each side. Here are some of the main attractions while visiting the West Side of Kauai that you won’t want to miss!
Kauai Coffee – The Estate is located in Kalaheo, about 17 miles from Lihue airport. This is a great place to stop for a pick-me-up as they have their full line of coffees available to sample, or stop by the visitor center for souvenirs to bring home! The plantation also offers walking tours if you would like to explore the coffee fields.
Hanapepe Town – Stop by Hanapepe to explore Kauai’s Biggest Little Town. It’s know for it’s art shops, the swinging bridge, and is home to Lilo from Lilo and Stich. They even have a a Lilo and Stich mural for a cute photo opt! This is a fantastic place to but locally made products and gifts to bring home.
Waimea Canyon – This geological wonder is a must see while on Kauai! The canyon has various lookout points and hiking trails that you won’t want to miss. If you’re heading to the West Side for a boat tour, we highly recommend visiting the canyon before or after. Waimea Canyon is home to wild goats, deer, and a variety of native birds and plants. Stunning waterfalls can be seen in the distance and a full view of the Na Pali Coast from the last lookout point. It’s truly a magical experience.
Na Pali Coast – Once inhabited by Hawaiians, this 17 mile stretch of coastline is one of the worlds most unforgettable natural landmarks. It’s beauty has been preserved throughout the years to do lack of accessibility since it can only be reached through boat or hiking. Na Pali is known for it’s numerous sea saves, cascading cliffs, and white sand beaches making it a dream destination for many.
