Na Pali Experience Shines at the Waimea Town Light Parade

Boat on trailer decorated with colorful holiday lights and inflatable figures at night.

When you spend your days exploring the wild beauty of the Nā Pali Coast, it is easy to forget how special it feels to come home to a close knit community. For all of us at Na Pali Experience, that home is Kauai’s West Side and every December the Waimea Town Light Parade is our favorite way to celebrate the holiday season.

From Ocean Waves to Holiday Lights

Most people know us for sunrise departures, sea caves, dolphins and those golden sunsets off the cliffs. But behind every tour is a team of captains, crew and staff who live, shop and raise their families on the West Side.

So when Waimea Town starts stringing lights, painting signs and planning floats, we are all in. The parade is more than a holiday event. It is a chance to stand shoulder to shoulder with our neighbors, support local schools and small businesses and show what this community means to us.

Bringing the Nā Pali Spirit to the Streets of Waimea

We wanted our parade entry to feel like Na Pali Experience on wheels. Think boat deck meets block party.

Captains, deckhands and office staff all jumped in to string lights, paint details and add their own creative touches and the finished float felt like a fun, colorful reflection of our teamwork.

We rolled into Waimea town decked out in lights, ocean inspired colors and a healthy dose of island holiday cheer. Kids smiled and cheered as we passed out holiday candy.  There is nothing better than seeing the happy faces of our friends and family all gathered together.

Why the West Side Matters to Us

Na Pali Experience would not exist without the West Side of Kaua’i. This coast is where we launch our boats, where our team goes home after a long day on the water and where many of our guests fall in love with Kaua’i for the first time.

Participating in the Waimea Town Light Parade is one way we say thank you by supporting local events that keep our small town traditions alive.  When we talk about mālama ʻāina caring for the land that includes caring for the people who live closest to it.

Mahalo, Waimea

To everyone who organizes, volunteers and shows up for the Waimea Town Light Parade mahalo!

We will keep doing what we love on the water, but nights like this remind us of something important. The real heart of Na Pali Experience is not only out on the ocean. It is right here in Waimea and across the community we are honored to call home.
