Adopt Nā Pali 2025 – Over One Ton Removed from Kaua‘i’s Iconic Coastline
The Nā Pali Coast has always inspired awe, from its towering sea cliffs and turquoise waters to the dolphins and monk seals that call it home. But on Monday, June 9, something just as powerful happened here: a community came together to protect it.
Adopt Nā Pali 2025, our bi-annual clean-up event, brought together boat crews, non-profits, local businesses, and ocean lovers to restore this sacred stretch of coastline, from Ke’e Beach to Polihale State Park. Armed with gloves, reusable bags, and determination, our volunteers combed beaches, scaled rocky coves, and pulled marine debris from hard-to-reach areas.
What We Accomplished
💪🏾 1.0 ton of marine debris removed
♻️ All trash weighed, sorted, and properly disposed
🌺 Countless microplastics cleared from reef-adjacent beaches
🧤 40+ volunteers from around Kaua‘i
🚤 Supported by 5 boats across 3 local tour companies
That’s one ton of love (literally) returned to one of Hawaii’s most treasured places.
Powered by Local Support
We couldn’t have done it without the organizations and people who rolled up their sleeves and showed up with heart:
- @hawaii_dlnr – For permits, support, and coastal stewardship
- @AnetikPerformance – For supplying gear that kept us cool and protected under the sun
- @MusubiTruck – For the delicious mid-cleanup refuel
- @oliverdesignstudios – For our epic 2025 logo
- Our boat partners –
- @napaliexperience
- @goblueadventures
- @komohanacharters
- @napalipirates
…and their dedicated captains and crew who navigated, hauled, and cheered every step of the way.
- @napaliexperience
And to our volunteers: You brought the grit. You brought the gloves. You brought the mana. We see you, and we mahalo you deeply.
Why It Matters
The Nā Pali Coast is more than a tourist destination, it’s a sacred and fragile ecosystem. Marine debris threatens sea life, coral reefs, and the very beauty that brings people to Kaua‘i in the first place.
Adopt Nā Pali is our way of giving back. Every piece of plastic removed means:
- One less hazard for sea turtles and birds
- A healthier reef system
- A cleaner future for keiki and visitors alike
